Google teams are responsible for mapping applications Google Earth and Google Maps comes to online satellite imagery of Port-au-Prince and its environs taken after the earthquake that devastated Haiti. "We have worked alongside the GeoEye this afternoon to make their satellite images available the most recent, taken at approximately 10:27 today"They explain on the blog Google Lat Long. What is at 16:27 yesterday Paris time.

The picture updates correspond to an area twenty miles out of ten around the capital. It can be accessed directly through Google Maps by following this linkBut the most practical is to download the KML file (that can be found here) And the corresponding open directly in Google Earth (available here). To compare images taken before and after the earthquake, just uncheck and check "Earthquake Haiti.

The result is impressive. Below are some pictures before and after the disaster. Google says that new images should be made available to users in the coming days.
