i went to cuba in 1994 and became the first "lecturer americano" (sic) in Cuban history, reading 'la granma' (habana's newspaper) to the cigar rollers at one of the biggest fabricas in habana viejo.
there was a huge picture of Che behind me, and a roomful of male and female rollers who had to endure my Spanish reading skills for about ten minutes...
the most memorable ten minutes of my life.
