Non credo di essere né il primo né l'ultimo ad averlo notato, ma c'è qualcosa di inquietante ma, al tempo stesso, di seducente nell'espressione di Jerry Lee quando suona. Non riesci a capire se è talmente folle da sembrare lucido, o se è talmente lucido da sembrare folle.
  Mi ha sempre affascinato la sensazione che egli da di dimorare una sorta di Nirvana del boogie man, stando però in bilico con un equilibrio precarissimo sulla soglia oltre la quale sarebbe necessario l'intervento degli infermieri con la camicia di forza. Non so se ho reso l'idea, ma credo di si. È straordinario. Lo considero uno dei miei Maestri in assoluto. Quanto al divertirsi suonando, quello è d'obbligo, e più indispensabile di quello che si crede. Ho sempre amato una frase di Sant'Agostino che recita...

Oak-Land now i've watched the middle one and am goin' to bed, but the last one almost made me cry and probably will someday. the i ching says something i only sorta maybe understand about not dropping your jaw, so that's not what i'm doing, at least not all the way, but i have jaws like a snake, so whatever. i'll stare into the ether which is all i see in front of me, and then i'll get up and go. thx buddy.
