The Cramps - Green Fuzz - Mudd Club NYC 1981 - RIP Lux Interior  The Cramps perform Green Fuzz at The Mudd Club in New York. This superb filming/recording was done by Paul Tschinkel for his Cable show on Manhattan Cable TV. An innovator in video, he is often copied and imitated, and is an all-round good egg. The Cramps Live 1981 Green Fuzz +3  The Cramps Live 1981 Green Fuzz +3 I was going through some old video tapes and came across one labeled Cramps Live. It turns out to be recorded from some cable public acsess show from the early 1980's called Inner Tube. In this clip they do Green Fuzz, I Can't Find My Mind, Goo Goo Muck and The Natives Are Restless. They are playing live in a club in July of 1981 during the time that Kid Congo Powers was in the band. I remember seeing them at the Congress Theater in Chicago that same month and it was an outstanding show. The quality well leaves some thing to be desired and Ivy spends most of the time behind a pole but they are rocking out! I'd like to share my observations of Buddy Guy at the Hollywood Bowl last night. He may be in his 70's but his guitar was screaming last night as he blistered through flurries of ripping blues licks, classic riffs, playing with his teeth, his shirt, even over his head one handed. You can identify an interval by its position in the diatonic major scale (doe re me scale). The distance from the first note of the scale (“tonic” or “root” note) to any other note in the scale determines the name of that interval. They are called 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6ths, and 7ths. The Major Scale, or the Do Re Mi scale, is very important to know when soloing guitar. Although the first scale many guitar players learn is the minor pentatonic, it's really helpful to know the major scale because in Western Music, the other scales are built off of it. A minor scale = C major scale
Here is an easy way to break out of the minor pentatonic pattern to make your solos sound more interesting. You can do this without learning any other shapes! |
