R.I.P. Lolly Vegas (Redbone)

Lolly Vegas passed away back in March, but I just found out today. He died from lung cancer. He was co-writer with his brother Pat of the hit "Niki Hoeky" by P.J. Proby. He was co-founder with his brother Pat of the band Redbone in 1968. Lolly was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the band. He wrote most of their hits including the 1974 smash they are best known for, "Come and Get Your Love". Redbone was notable for being the only Native American band to achieve significant success in the rock field. Those who liked the hits will find Redbone's catalog chock full of catchy pop-rock. A lot of it hasn't made it to CD. I am deeply saddened to report Lolly's passing.
