(YouTube Video 2ème) Willy DeVille (Edith Piaf) «Un Reve de mon Vie» C. Dumont | TV Française




What you see in Pt. 2 is more dreamy Parisian peripatciennes and crepuscular discussions with somnambulist Charles Dumont (via Willy's girlfriend/interpreter), as well as much more interweaving of the Edith Piaf narrative which has accompanied this wildly imaginative Television Documentary Profile throughout its evocative first part. 

 We see a still very junk-dependent Willy DeVille in 1982 (whom without knowledge of such encumbrances would just be considered as the charming and powerful performer he is regardless of his human foibles.

I will continue to research more backstory on the origin/creator of this beautiful tribute to legendary interpreter (through his gravel-road, Howlin Wolf Meets Barrio Gangbanger - magic, North of Miles Davis, but not much - vocal chords), Willy DeVille, who I also called a friend and neighbor in our early 90s witchy Quarter (where we both witnessed a shocking event one April) New Orleans Vieux Carre Junco (barely) Pardner (who, btw, I'd thought I was over missing until watching this).

Edith et Doc Pomus - You know the first day I walked into the studio and they were working with an orchestra, and I heard the strings playing one of my songs. I had to go into the bathroom and shed a tear. Seeing these guys playing their instruments, with long white hair hanging down over their collars, looking like what classical musicians are supposed to look like, doing a song I wrote, really got to me. - Vous connaissez le premier jour je suis entré dans le studio et ils ont travaillé avec un orchestre, et j'ai entendu les cordes jouant une de mes chansons. J'ai dû aller dans la salle de bain et une larme. En voyant ces gars-là jouer de leurs instruments, avec de longs cheveux blancs pendait sur leurs colliers, ressemblant à ce que les musiciens classiques sont censés ressembler, faire une chanson que j'ai écrit, vraiment pour moi.
