Len Prince Archive: In February 1994, renowned New York photographer, Len Prince, well known for his breathtaking prints of exotic flowers, began photographing contemporary stage and screen stars in a style reminiscent of the celebrated images of Hollywood's golden age. With the photographs of George Hurrell in mind, which represented Hollywood film culture in its most artistically refined form, Prince employed the ideas of romance, fantasy and glamour to create hypnotic, highly stylized portraits. To undertake many of these portraits, Prince and his assistant moved into the storied Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood. The hotel's lowly lit rooms and rich historical reference were perfect to convey the essence of a more romantic, bygone period. In these smoldering virtuoso portraits, Len Prince has created a modern-day golden era and a startling photographic tour-de-force.
