Rock and roll's favorite albino, Johnny Winter is born on this day. Mr Winter worked with Rick Derringer and his brother Edgar.
Here he is at Woodstock, doing a tune called Mean Town Blues. My favorite part about this video, other than the fact that it's a dynamite performance from a legendary concert, is the fact that he's playing a Fender XII (12 string) but when he puts on his slide about halfway through the song you can see that it's clearly only strung with six....
Why?
I guess we'll never know.
But it sounds damn good, and that's what matters.
