Lowdown Secret Facebook Birthday Meeting Hacked

Yesterday, Facebook celebrated its sixth birthday and a new milestone: 400 million users. Oh, and it celebrated it in style, if we do say so ourselves.
Last night, the company decided to mark the momentous occasion by launching a complete homepage redesign and throwing a party for its employees. Not only that, but it invited engineering students and select members of the press to chat with Facebook’s team, including Mark Zuckerberg, COO Sheryl Sandberg and Product Manager Peter Deng
In a private meeting with the press, Mr. Deng took the time to explain the new Facebook redesign and all of its new features in-depth. I whipped out my Kodak ZI8 and filmed the entire conversation and demo. While he didn’t reveal many new details, he did provide a very useful overview that made Facebook design and its plan much easier to understand.

According to Wikipedia and the info page, Facebook was launched just six years ago, February 4, 2004. At that time it was called "TheFaceBook, and it was located thefacebook.com, but it is certainly the same project.Founded by Mark Zuckerberg, with his college roomies Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes

Did phone really go during the meeting?

Etiquette crash!

I am pleased to see a picture though. The nature of the interaction with the content has evolved in leaps and bounds since the feed live animals were alive.

I like the rationalization of the cat, looking really make tools more convenient for users. I also get rid of the notifications, certainly getting rid of many problems and headaches, do not you think?

* Namanha Hoang simply commenting about this on Venture Beat, here's what I said:

I got the update and I think it looks good, a few features such as message notification and request of contact at the top make it a great way to get a glimpse of this thing at a glance .

I know that they keep fiddling around with the Live and News Recent news, or maintaining its "Top News" and "newer", but I think that the New Space is still uncertain. The main question is what parameters are used to determine what is "Top News" I usually go straight to the latest news is now "newer" because I guess that's a timeline of everything with nothing missing flow. With Top News, I know it's leaving some substance out but it would be more useful if I know why I should read or share.

I wish I could customize it, as my custom listing separate these two and I could choose what I wanted to see. It would in principle be "latest" updates under the profile photo, minus the latest app, fewer new / updated pages, Perhaps my own updates status since I do not need to see what I wrote, and all the others I can not think of right now.

Personally, I think it is great that they will end notification to the outside because I'm tired of getting and May notifications from applications that are just banal, repetitive, however, it will be difficult for Sites that use Facebook Connect, which have gained a lot of users but do not yet have access to their e-mails because they record only the symbolic key.

The notifications are the only way to reach these people so I hope there is an alternative to that. This does not bother me to notify you simply want to separate the most important of those are less important.

I started a list on baduku.com compare goods and evils of the new interface available, feel free to add.

These not really ask any interesting questions. "Are third party notification is still far?" Why would you ask this question at a news platform user interface? I would have liked an answer on their thinking about removing filter feeding as updates status.

I'm not happy: I had all my friends together so I can see the different groups in my stream ... re = new wipe all grouping and ignore all filters feed. I am not hunting for hours where they have moved (if it even still there?). I do not care about stuff new stuff if key is broken.

I'm glad to see a design though. The nature of interaction with content has changed leaps and bounds since the live feed went live. I like the streamlining of the chat, really looking to make the tools more practical to users. These guys really didn't ask any interesting questions. "Are third-party notifications still going away?" Why would you ask that Platform question at a UI release? I would have liked an answer on their reasoning on removing the feed filters like Status Updates.

I'm not happy: I had all my friends grouped so I could see various groups in my feed...new redesign = wipe all grouping and ignore any feed filters. I'm not hunting for hours for where they moved it (if it's even still there?). I don't care about new stuff if key stuff is broken.
