A source close to Nordegren's family has told tells Fox News that the two are considering putting even more distance between themselves and Tiger's cheating scandal.
The insider says the couple is planning to leave the United States “very soon”.
“Elin and Tiger are planning to temporarily move closer to Sweden, possibly to a private island, to get away from it all,” the insider said.

It has also been reported Nordegren bought a $2.3 million house on an island near Stockholm last week with her twin sister.
On Tuesday another porn star came forward claiming to be one of Tiger Woods lovers.
The latest alleged mistress, Veronica Siwik-Daniels, is the 11th woman linked to the disgraced golf prodigy.
Deadspin.com reports that Siwik-Daniels, who performs under the name Joslyn James and "specializes in kinky sex", was Woods' "full-time" mistress.
Deadspin.com has also reported Rachel Uchitel may have been providing Woods with woman for sex romps around the world. Full report here.

Celebrity website TMZ.com on Tuesday released the 911 call from Tiger Woods wife to emergency services after her mother collapsed in the Woods' Florida home.
The audio gives insight into the human tragedy unfolding in the Woods home, with a hysterical wife and children crying in the background.
Elin Nordegren's mother Barbro Holmberg was taken to hospital late Monday night and later released.
The 911 call can be heard here.
The call came as the tally of alleged Tiger Woods mistresses continues to climb.
Sources are reporting that Nordegren on Tuesday moved out of the Florida mansion where she and the Woods lived with their two children, and is staying in a nearby house.
Reports say that Woods' reps aren't announcing her departure because they hope things will settle down and she'll come back soon, according to RadarOnline.
The Woods scandal started when he got into a one-car crash outside his mansion at around 2 a.m. on Nov. 27. Reports spread that the accident was a result of Nordegren coming after his SUV with a golf club after she found out about his infidelity.
Another report Monday said someone is offering naked photos of Tiger to Playgirl magazine, and it's a fairly legit story, according to GossipCop. One possibility is alleged mistress No. 7, Holly Sampson, an adult film star.
The magazine's rep apparently said: "We're currently trying to authenticate the photos before we make any decisions on purchasing the Tiger Woods pics and ascertaining the value."
A poll by CNN and USA Today reported that approval ratings for Woods have plunged since June in the wake of his admission of mistakes, which came after an audiotape, purportedly of Woods, linked him to an alleged mistress.
Already there was talk of Woods facing the "Twelve Days of Mistress" during the Christmas season.
Jokes about Woods swinging more than his clubs have followed as near-daily claims of intimate relationships with the 14-time major champion reached 10, including Sampson, Fox News reported.
The New York Daily News reported earlier that Cori Rist, a 31-year-old divorced mother, said she met Woods at a New York club.

Cocktail waitress Jamiee Grubbs, 24, played a Woods voicemail to support her claims of a 31-month relationship with Woods.
Grubbs appeared on US show entertainment TV show Extra on Wednesday saying she felt remorse for what she had put Woods's wife through.
Also on the Fox list were Sampson, 36; Kalika Moquin, 27, a Las Vegas club manager; model Jamie Jungers, 26; Mindy Lawton, a 33-year-old waitress from Orlando; and three unidentified women, two from British reports and another waitress from Orlando, Fla.
