Yes, I've also always known this as Paris footage, and thought it was because it was broadcast on TF1 in 1983.
But , recently, TXPF has told me that this footage is in fact from Brussels, and that that is the place where Smolianoff met Bowie.
I have listened to my audiotape of the Brussels performance and compared it to the mpeg of him with the wineglass ( Life on Mars) and it seems to match perfectly.
(The only thing is that my tapeplayer was not working 100% properly, sometimes a bit slow- I have since selected it for the garbage bin but it was still close enough )

Ok, French TV broadcast was brussels, but i remember one of my friend films director, Fredy Hausser who was working at this time with photographer Philippe Auliac, shot 4 silent 16 mm film and some backstage takes.
All of this shot was now destruct or in very bad condition at the I.N.A (french institute of audiovisuel. I call yesterday night PA, he remember during one track DB drinking a large glass of "Cognac" in front of stage, filmed by Fredy and PA.
Maybe is it this take who was broadcast ?
PA says also that he will be sale in auction soon a collection of 10 original negative shot from the duke, in a picture event to celebrate the 30 years of the return of the thin white duke, and 30 yars of work. (he take his first professinal pictures at Victoria Station)
